Steg G & the Freestyle Master honour the bravery and memory of all Scotland's people by celebrating the anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath with a brand new single and video, "A DECLARATION (700 Years and counting...)", which pays homage to the spirit, ingenuity and heart of this beautiful land and all it's inhabitants.
The stunning musical backdrop driven by traditional Celtic drumming see's 2019 SAMA Best Hip Hop winner Steg G in top form on production duties once again and is complimented perfectly by long time collaborator Freestyle Master on vocal duties
On the day of April 6th 1320, deep in the vestry of Arbroath Abbey, the Abbot Bernard scribed the most famous document in the history of Scotland.
Known as The Declaration Of Arbroath, the parchment was sealed by the names of the country's presiding nobles and sent to Pope John XXII requesting his papal decree to grant Scotland sovereign status as an independent nation free from the tyranny of English rule.
A rousing boldness sprang from the page in the shape of Bernard's words which are often cited as the inspiration for the American Declaration of Independence nearly 500 years later, Now as we approach it's 700th birthday it's message and intent remain as prevalent as ever as Scotland see's a large swell of further support rising for it's right to Independence in the 21st century.

With the video and song we hope to introduce a new generation to the inspirational strength and resolve shown by luminary names like Robert The Bruce, William Wallace and Mary Barbour in the face of adversity in pursuit of freedom and justice.
In this current time of unprecedented turmoil all of the world's nations will require each other in order to survive and maintain our human spirit during this time and we as Scots owe it to the world and ourselves to set an example of how we choose to go forward as one...
